Ailene
I have an old Boxster and the roof has stopped working, the windows drop but then no roof movement.... any ideas anyone?
Menoporsche
Do you hear a motor noise as you hold the button? If so the plastic ball joints have snapped. If not I’d say “microswitch” as it’s a common answer to roof problems. Welcome new member Do you know when was the car first registered? Ailene
Yes its a really early one 1996! and no there is no motor noise - the windows drop as normal then nothing!
The Toecutter
Check fuses but then I'd check switches, if the windows drop the switch on the roof catch is likely working. The hand brake switch is one, check that the parked light is on the dash. And you have the one on the passenger side B pillar, kind of in behind the roll hoop. And then there's the one on the motor itself under the rear clam. Assuming you have the early roof type still.
