Spinjim Posted July 4, 2018 Report Share Posted July 4, 2018 So I test drove a 981 today, 2.7 with PDK with 20 inch rims first thing is the steering felt heavy compared to my 987 is this normal ? car feels heavier than the 987 is this the PDK ? Suprised the dealer as I did use the accelerator and redlined it a couple of times, good drive felt bit more of a GT car than the 987 need to test drive couple of others, Jim Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The steering is electric so slightly less feel and gives the impression the car is heavier, reinforced by the wider stance and bigger wheels. PDK is brilliant but you need to get used too it, which takes a while. The 2.7 needs lots of revs, try a 3.4 and see what you think. The 987 is a great car and perhaps the best incarnation so far, but if you want a newer Boxster with a flat 6 engine then the 981S is probably the way to go.
