alank
My son asked me the other night about what roll over protection my Box has. That got me thinking has it got Shoot Up Protection like the 911, or Audi, or VW. Looks like not, just the couple of inches between Head and Roll Bar, assuming the seat belts dont let you move, which i doubt!! I Am i correct, please say no, ha ha. Araf
The 'A' pillar is also strengthened. If your head is above a line between these, you need to lower your seat.
Greenman
Shoot up protection tends to be where there is no permanent role over hoops, obviously there are hoops and windscreen here.
Patt
The hoops are not just for show - they are 4 point attached to the chassis as protection. As also mentioned the windscreen surround is also strengthened for the same reason.

alank
i appreciate the strength in the chassis, but worst case scenario , you flip over, Unless you have 4 point harness, i dont think the standard belt would prevent you moving out of the seat towards the the new sky (ground). Anyway, nice day , think ill go for a drive🙃, oops
daz05
Wouldn't the lap belt hold you in place especially with the pre tensioner.

Carmand
I’ve been in a car that turned onto its roof (not a Boxster!) and I can confirm the belts do hold you in your seat safely away from everything even when it happens at low speed. I believe there were some concerns a few years back around non factory conversions of 911 Speedsters that did without the roll hoops for aesthetic reasons and were consequently not thought to be safe in this scenario. Patt
Yep you only bang your head when you release the belt.
