Phily cheese
Hi guys, recently the tank won't allow fuel to be put in it (using two different petrol stations, trying the pump in all positions) It perhaps a problem with the tank vent system? the fuses seem to be OK, any advice would be greatly appreciated
Phily cheese
I've found a similar issue on the 986 (go to 1:27) but the 987 doesn't have this valve
Paul P
No intent on being a “smart****” but are you sure the tank is low enough to take fuel ? Perhaps it’s the gauge that’s faulty. ? That said. Was there any hiss or similar sound when you removed the filler cap (suggesting a venting issue)
Dan888
Does it also refuse to fill when squeezing the pump gently as if trickling the fuel in? At a couple of my local stations pulling the handle more than half way will always shut off in my 987 and my Volvo. As if the fuel pump is delivering to fast for the car. BBB
12 hours ago, Phily cheese said: the fuel gun just clicks as soon as the trigger is pulled If it does this then there is probably fuel right up in the filler neck. There is a tiny hole in the pump nozzle and when this dips into fuel it clicks the pump off. Can you have a look down the filler neck with a torch?
Menoporsche
Or poke a thin strip of cardboard down and see if it gets wet at the end. Not sure what anti-siphon measures there are.
